Anzac day writing

Anzac day is a day to remember the people who died for our country.

World war 1 took place between 1914-1918. There were to sides, the Central Powers and the Allies. There was also some countries who decided to not take part in the great war called the neutral countries.

How did World War 1 start?

There are three reason's, Alliances [where you make a deal with a country  saying if our country get's attacked you country will help us], Nationalism [saying your country is better than all the others] and Imperialism [taking over other countries and ruling them] Another thing was that it was cold in Russia so the Anzac's [Australia New Zealand Army Corps] decided to take boats down to Russia giving them food and more weapons. On the way there they had to go through a tiny little gap in turkey and Attack the turk's, take over their land and continue the journey up to Russia. When the Anzac's landed they realised they had landed in the wrong place. Where they landed had this very narrow flat land then steep hills where the turks were waiting to attack them. After eight months the Anzac's decided to evacuate because no one was winning.

How do we celebrate anzac day?
We celebrate anzac day by wearing poppies, going to dawn service's and making anzac cookies. Anzac day is a public holiday an all the shop's have to be closed till 1pm.

least we forget.
